Adeline M. Blowers, age 96 of Austin, died early Thursday morning, July 10, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Hospital-Austin Campus. She was born April 12, 1918 to Norman and Helen (Loree) Douglas in LeSueur County, Minnesota. She attended St. Peter schools and earned her teaching degree at Mankato State University. Adeline began her teaching career in 1935. On July 14, 1939 she was united in marriage to Clifford E. Blowers at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Adeline and Clifford resided most of their married life in the Austin area where Adeline taught elementary school for over 35 years. She was an active and faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Austin, and a member of various teachers associations both locally and nationally. Adeline enjoyed friends and grandchildren, reading, travel, volunteer work, judging AAUW Science Fairs.

Survivors include her son, John (Joyce) Blowers of Farmington, Minnesota; a daughter, Betty Svendsen of Fort Collins, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Jeff (Amy) Blowers, Julie (Kevin) Krenz, Jimi Svendsen, Joel (Kim) Svendsen, Katrina (Jerry) Wynes, William Blowers, II, Sandra (David) Kropacek; ten great grandchildren, Matthew, Alyssa, Amanda, Shelby, Danika, Jayden, Jenna, Samuel, Noah and Hattie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford; sons, James and William and a sister, Mary Regenscheid.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, July 19, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Austin with The Reverend William Ogilvie officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. Saturday afternoon prior to the service at St. John's Lutheran Church. Interment is at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
