Suggested edit: Eighth of the fifteen children of Abraham Benton & Angeline (Melton) Horton who married 21 Oct 1828 in Winston County, Alabama, but lived much of their lives in Mississippi. Angeline was the oldest of eleven children of Jacob and Lucy (Matthews) Melton who came from Cannon County, Tennessee to Christian County, Missouri as did eight of their children, several of whom moved again later. Several of Angeline's children she named for her siblings. She married at the very young age of ten.
