The ninth child of Norwegian immigrants, Mabel was born on a homestead farm in Denhoff, North Dakota. As a child, she loved the farm but as an adult, she decided to find work elsewhere. She followed her older sister, to Tacoma, WA. She met her husband (of 66 years), Robert G. Freeman while working at the Rialto Theater. They had three children. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. Mabel loved the simple things in life, family, gardening, quilting, sewing and giving of herself to others. Mom enjoyed travel, camping and especially family get-togethers. Mabel was the last sibling in her family of eleven and was preceded in death by her husband.

Mabel was a devout servant of Jesus and a long-standing member of Central Lutheran Church, of Tacoma. Even though afflicted with a disease that would eventually take her life, she always gave thanks for what she had and prayed for those less fortunate. We will greatly miss you and your caring ways until we all meet again in God's presence and glory.

Graveside Service March 29, New Tacoma Cemetery.
