Ella Mae Stevens, 75

Ella Mae Stevens was born on Aug. 28, 1938, to Elmer and Goldie Rhodes in Kalispell.

Ella Mae passed away at the Montana Veterans Home on July 8, 2014, after a long battle with breast cancer.

Ella Mae grew up in the Flathead and graduated from Flathead County High School in 1956. She went on to Kinman Business College and continued her education at Flathead Valley Community College over the years.

One of her first jobs was at the Liberty Theater while her future sister-in-law, Kitty, worked at the Strand Theater in Kalispell.

The family moved back to the Flathead after several years in Seattle, and then moved to Sweetgrass where Ella and Harley both worked at the brokerages for the port on the U.S.-Canada border.

Ella Mae was very proud of the time she and Harley spent as campground hosts at Bad Medicine Campground on Bull Lake in their retirement years.

Ella Mae loved her special dog Onyx who was always there for her to make her smile.
