On Sept. 1, 1979, at Freetown Church of Christ, he married Martha Eldridge.
He was a graduate of Clearspring High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy. He had been a toolmaker for Cummins from where he retired in 1990 after 36½ years. He enjoyed woodworking, farming and mowing grass. One of his many hobbies was genealogy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Arnold and General McDaniel.
A funeral service was conducted at Voss Chapel, Seymour, with the Rev. Larry Tedrow officiating.
Burial will be at Houston Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.
