Dewayne Dawlson Harris, 77, was born January 25, 1937, in rural Douglas County, Missouri. He left this earth on July 9, 2014, at Cox Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy R. Harris and Matilda E. Uchtman Harris; three brothers, Raymond Harris, Alvin Harris, and Lonnie Harris; and a daughter-in-law, Tamra Moore Harris.

Dewayne was retired after a lifetime of being a bivocational pastor, working as both a pastor and a carpenter. He was ordained by the Assemblies of God for over 50 years, serving pastorates in Missouri, Illinois, and Arkansas. After his retirement from ministry, Dewayne became a member of Central Assembly of God in Springfield, Missouri.

Dewayne is survived by his wife Susie L. Harris; daughter, Deanna S. Harris; and a son and daughter-in-law, David W. and Nancy L. Hand Harris, all of Springfield, Missouri; two brothers, Kenneth Harris of Springfield Missouri, and Ron Harris of Yellville, Arkansas; and two sisters, Wanda Nance of Nixa, Missouri, and Deloris Smith of Florissant, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte Chapel will hold a visitation from 5-7 on Monday, July 14, 2014 and a service to be on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 10 a.m. followed by burial in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
