He was born on August 26, 1929, in Muncie the son of William and Helen (Nelson) Jones.
He graduated from Royerton High School and served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Jones was a tool and die maker "The Legend".
He was a member of East Sixteenth Street Church of God and he enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-five years, Arlene; his son, Ted M. Jones, Jr. (wife, Sharon), Malakoff, TX; four daughters, Barbara Jablonski, Albuquerque, NM, Jackie Gibson (husband, William), Yorktown, Jane Miller, Muncie, and Janet Kreps (husband, Mark), Muncie; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Jones (wife, Becky), Delphi and Robert Max Jones (wife, Audrey), Punta Gorda, FL; and several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, Molly.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014 at East Sixteenth Street Church of God with Pastor Doug Lucy officiating. Burial will follow in Hawk Cemetery with Military Rites by Veterans of Delaware County and the US Army.
Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Friday at the church.
