Jimmie Mack Cook
November 28, 1936 - July 7, 2014
Jimmie Mack Cook, 77 of Amarillo passed away July 7, 2014. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Jerry Davey and Greg Cole officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East.
Jimmie was born November 28, 1936 in Floydada to Jerrell and Clara Bell Cook. He was part of the first graduating class at Palo Duro High School in 1956. After graduating Jimmie served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He earned an Associates Degree in Theology at Amarillo College Baptist Seminary.
He married Mary Murdock on March 21, 1969 in Memphis, Texas.
For sixty years Jimmie was an OTR (Over the Road) truck driver and he loved traveling the country. Jimmie was an outdoorsman and loved to work outside his house and in his yard. He also really enjoyed watching the Western channel on T.V. and watching old western movies. Jimmie was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jimmie is survived by his wife, Mary Cook; sons, Chester Chawn Cook and wife Eva, Jimmie Mack Cook, Jr. and fiancé Christa and Lindsey Diel Cook and fiancé Sarah all of Amarillo; and his grandchildren, Holly Stover, Caigon Cade Cook, Cheslee Claire Cook, Randall Deane Strickland, John Michael Inman and Dalton Reid Tallant.
