Vera E. Nielsen Kowallis, age 93, passed away February 7, 1998.

Born July 15, 1904 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Otto M. and Catherine Cooper Nielsen. Married Otto Karl Kowallis January 5, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death January 30, 1975. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as secretary in the Sunday School and MIA; also as a counselor in MIA Presidency, and as Relief Society Visiting Teacher for many years. Vera was active in gathering family genealogy. In her life she touched many lives. She lived in Midvale for many years. Moved to Hanford, Washington, then Idaho with her husband. She lived in Idaho Falls, working for Bonneville School District for 13 years. Moved back to Midvale in 1975. The last seven years she lived in Taylorsville in the homes of Margaret Carlson and Jim and Kaelynne Hayes, where she was lovingly taken care of. We appreciate the tender care she received from them. We also appreciate the care she received at the Highland Care Center the last two weeks.

Survived by brother, Elmer Ray Nielsen, Eagle, Idaho; seven stepchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services Saturday, February 14, 1998 at 11 a.m. in the Midvale 3rd LDS Ward Chapel 75 Olympus St. where friends may call Saturday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery. Goff Mortuary, Funeral Directors.
