Jacqueline Freeman, 81, Minot, ND, formerly of San Francisco, CA, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014, in her home in Minot, with her son, Michael Freeman by her side.

Jacqueline was born May 3, 1933, to O'Neil and Iona Ambler Halliday in Tacoma General Hospital, Tacoma, Washington.

Jacqueline was raised in Tacoma, Washington, where she graduated from Stadium High School and then went on to attended Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. Jacqueline then moved to San Francisco, California.

Jacqueline was once married to Walter Freeman. From this union, two children, Diane and Michael, were born. Jacqueline and her children lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for many years where Jacqueline worked for the Federal Government in the VA Hospital in the Personnel Department. She eventually moved to Reno, Nevada, where she retired as a Chief Personnel Administrator for the Federal Government.

Jacqueline loved to travel. She traveled all over the world and especially loved to travel to Europe and Caribbean with family and friends. She could talk about her travels and the fun times she had for hours on end. She also loved animals, especially dogs which she had many throughout her lifetime. She also loved cats and horses and loved to horseback ride every chance she could.

Jacqueline was such a beautiful loving mother and a beautiful lady and had such a beautiful way about her. She touched so many people in so many ways. Everyone loved her. She always had a smile and kind words for everyone she met. She will be truly missed by all that knew her. We will all miss her with all our hearts and will always cherish the times we spent with her. Even though she has left us, her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Jacqueline is survived by: son, Michael Freeman, Minot; daughter, Diane Long, Willis, Michigan; granddaughters, Tiffany Olson, Minot and Cheyenne Long, Willis, Michigan; and her grandson, Sterling Freeman, Gardnerville, Nevada, as well as many cousins and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jacqueline's funeral and burial will be at the Alta Mesa Memorial Park, 695 Arastradero Rd, in Palo Alto, California at a date and time to be announced.
