Benita Ann Petersen

Benita Ann Petersen, 51, of Salem, died Sunday at Salem Hospital after a long illness.
She was born in Wichita, Kan., and was reared in Mulvane, Kan., where she married Elton "Pete" Petersen on April 20, 1958. She moved to Salem in 1960. She was a homemaker and graduated from Chemeketa Community College in Oregon City in 1984. She worked as a medidcal records technician for Kaiser Permanente.
She was a Girl Scout volunteer for 15 years and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Salem Chapter 162.
Survivors include her husband, Elton "Pete", her mother, Lois Higgs of Albany; daughters, Julie Ann Mosbacher of Lake Tahoe, Calif., Kristina Lois Petersen of Eugene; a brother, Richard Higgs of Mulvane; and sisters, Judith Young of Albany, Norma(n) Shoemaker of Apex, N. C., and Theresa Wells of Reno, Nev.
Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Woodland Chapel in Salem. Interment will be private.
