Edward J. Shimon, 82, of Reedsville, died Sunday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 10:15 a.m. Thursday at Reedsville Funeral Home, and 10:30 am. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Reedsville. The Rev. Carl Buresh will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Shimon was born June 22, 1892 at Reedsville, son of the late Wencil and Anna Hlavachek Shimon. He married Barbara Burich Jan. 20, 1914, at St. Mary Church, Reedsville. He was a funeral director at Reedsville for 59 years.
He was a charter member of Reedsville Lions Club and a member of Holy Name Society of St. Mary Parish. Mr. and Mrs. Shimon celebrated 60 years of marriage in 1974.
Survivors include his wife, three sons, Steve of Brookfield, and Edward and Norbert, of New Holstein; a brother, Wencil, of Oak Park, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Lucille O’Connell, of Manitowoc; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Reedsville Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Wednesday where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. by the Holy Name Society and a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. by Father Buresh.
