GRAY: Roy Talmadge Strickland, 83, of Woodland Drive, died Tuesday, July 08, 2014, at his residence. The family will greet friends from 2:00 - 3:00pm, Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Bradley Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow, with interment at Bradley Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Steve Johnson will officiate.
Mr. Strickland, the son of the late Talmadge Strickland and Lura Gentry Strickland, was born in Liberty Community, of Greene County on August 11, 1930, and had lived in Gray for the past fifty-five years. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as an auto-mechanic for four years. He was a retired self employed pulpwood business owner. Mr. Strickland is preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-six years: Gloria Ellen Strickland; daughter: Susan Dawn Brown; and sisters: Loretta Simons and Eugenia The family request in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to United Hospice, 6060 Lakeside Commons Drive, Macon, Georgia, 31210, or to Bradley Baptist Church, Post Office Box 61, Gray, Georgia, 31032.
