Nell Elizabeth Stephens 69, of Burgaw, formerly of Hallsboro died December 12, 2013. She was born March 5, 1944 the daughter of Harrell Stephens and Betty Collins Stephens. She was formerly employed with the Internal Revenue Service for many years in Baltimore, MD and in Jacksonville, FL.
She is survived by a grandson, Ricky Amerson of Madison, FL; a niece, Sherry Lynn Council & husband, William of Hallsboro; two great nieces, Savannah Herring, Summer Council; a great nephew, Chase Council all of Hallsboro; cousins, Mac Stephens and wife, Judy of Hallsboro, Betty Rose Stephens Hobbs and husband, James of Holden Beach, Steve Simmons and wife, Katie of Raleigh, Jimmy Hobbs and wife, Rachele of Holden Beach, Michael Hobbs of Holden Beach, Ronald Hobbs of Lake Waccamaw, Sonya Hobbs Batten and husband, Wayne of Lake Waccamaw, Bo Stephens and wife, Candace of Wilmington, Christy Stephens Williamson and husband, Jonathan of Cary, Michelle Stephens Marshburn and husband, Bryan of Apex, Bill Walters of Tallahassee, FL, Barbara Walters, of Tallhassee, FL, George Kelly and wife, Barbara of Wauchula, FL, Jerry Bill Kelly and wife, Lisa of Panama City, FL, Eliza Stephens and Spaine Stephens formerly of Cullowhee,NC.

A memorial service was conducted 3:00 pm Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Hallsboro Baptist Church by Pastor Tom Canady.
