Harry Lee Shelton, age 65 of Hurt died Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born July 24, 1948 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late Cyril Sandy Shelton and Alease Brooks Shelton. He was predeceased by one sister, Patsy S. Determan. Mr. Shelton was a member Motley Baptist Church. He was a contractor and greatly enjoyed Nascar and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Betsy Ann Dalton Shelton of the residence; one son, Harry Lee Shelton, Jr. of Laurel Hill, NC; two brothers, Earl Bennett Shelton of Durham, NC and Philip Ray Shelton of Cary, NC; four sisters, Sandra S. Smith of Burlington, NC, Tina S. Jones of Reidsville, NC, Ronda S. Kinney of Trinity, NC, and Donna S. Shelton of Arlington; one grandson, Jeromy Lee Shelton; a special niece, Lisa Crawford and her husband, Keith of Gladys; other nieces and nephews; and two canine friends, Lily and Princess. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Mitch Etheridge. Burial will follow in the Plymale Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home. Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, Gretna is assisting the family.
