Gracie La Verne Everett Christian passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2010 in Fredericksburg, Texas. She was born in Peoria, Texas on December 23, 1923. She was preceded in death by her father Jesse Lee (Jack) Everett, her mother Grace Virginia Everett, brothers Jesse Lee Everett, Jr. and Garland Everett, and her sister Christene Virginia Everett Carter. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years James Thomas (Tom) Christian, her daughters Linda Christian Winchester of San Antonio, Susan Christian O'Neill and her husband Jim of Austin, and Janet Christian and her husband Eric Marsh of Lockhart. She was a loving wife and mother, a good friend, an elegant lady, and a real hoot! La Verne was active and involved her entire life, from PTA President in San Antonio to Citizen Cop in Fredericksburg. She and Tom were full partners in everything from raising three daughters to owning their own successful business. She was witty, wise, kind, thoughtful, feisty, and organized. She lived with grace and dignity and pearl earrings. She will be missed by more people and in more ways than we can know and we are grateful for their friendship and support. She will be especially missed by Matt, Bingo, and Joe. Funeral services for La Verne will be held on Friday, April 30th, 2010 at 2:00 P. M. in the Schaetter Funeral Home, 301 E. San Antonio St., in Fredericksburg, with Father Bill Davis, OMI, officiating. Graveside services and Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Fredericksburg. Those who so desire may make memorial contributions in her memory to the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, The American Cancer Society, or to the charity of their choice. Visitation for La Verne Christian will be from 4:00 to 6:00 P. M. Thursday afternoon in the Schaetter Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.
