Valoe Butler Bryant, 78, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006 at home with her husband and family at her side.

She was born April 20, 1927 in McNary to Julius Ray and Dicy May Adams Butler. She was the fourth of six children. Valoe grew up and lived in Show Low, she graduated from Snowflake Union High School in 1945. On Nov. 24, 1944 she married Jim Ramsay Bryant and on March 30, 1963 they were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They had seven children; Dian, Lynette, Jimmy Dean, Paticia Ann, Val Ray, Beverly and Shannon. Valoe was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in many ward and stake callings. She loved making quilts for her family and friends, camping with her family and all outdoor activities, especially her gardening and love of flowers. Valoe cherished her children and grandchildren most of all.
Valoe is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jim Bryant of Show Low; children, Dian (Clark) Melendy of Show Low, Lynette (JR) Jones of Kanab, Utah, Jimmy Dean (Annell) Bryant of Show Low, Patricia Ann (Chuck) Duncan of Show Low, Val Ray (CJ) Poglajen of Show Low and Shannon Clark of Show Low; 20 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; brothers, Claude Butler of Mesa, Hal (Peggy) Butler of Mesa/Show Low; sisters-in-law, Jackie Butler of Vernon, Ruby Brimhall of Snowflake, Hazel (Darrell) Brimhall of Snowflake; brother in law, George Bryant of Snowflake and many many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Beverly; parents, Ray and May Butler; father and mother in law, Roy and Ada Bryant, brothers, Bob and Wade Butler, sister, Lujana, brothers-in-law, Louis Bryant and Verl Brimhall, sister-in-law, Olga Butler.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Show Low Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Viewing will be held Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Owens Mortuary in Show Low. Interment will be in the Show Low Cemetery.
