John W. (Jack) Hlavachek, 87, of 133 Trier Street, Brillion, died
peacefully Tuesday, July 11, 1989 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green
Bay, after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be 10:30 am
Friday at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Reedsville. Rev. Nicholas
Johannes will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Hlavachek was born March 10, 1902, in the Town of Maple Grove,
son of the late Frank and Barbara Kalcik Hlavachek. He married Nellie
Thurow on June 9, 1962 at Reedsville. He worked as a mechanic at
Jentink Chevy-Olds for many years. He was a member of St. Mary
Catholic Church, Reedsville.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie; two daughters and sons-in-law,
Audrey and Erhardt Wordall of Brillion and Jeannette and David
Boeselager of Rockford, Illinois; a step son and step daughter-in-
law, Robert and Barbara Thurow of Brillion; eight grandchildren;
five great grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mayme
Haas of Cato and Emma and Joseph Dugan of Valders; a sister-in-law,
Erna Hlavachek of Milwaukee; a brother, Frank Hlavachek of Milwaukee.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
Friends may call at Wieting Schneider Funeral Home, 4 pm to 9 pm
Thursday and from 8 am to 10 am Friday. Prayer service at 7:30 pm
Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established
in his name for St. Mary's Building Fund.
