Mrs. George (Tess) Barnard, 81, of 304 Manitowoc St., Reedsville, died Wednesday
morning, April 21, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 10:15 a.m. Saturday at Reedsville Funeral Home and 10:30
a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Reedsville. The Rev. Donald Schneider will
officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Barnard was born Sept. 23, 1900, daughter of the late John and Bridgit Brick.
She was married to George "Dolly" Barnard, May 14, 1930, at Askeaton, Wis. The
couple operated Barnard Hotel in Reedsville for many years until 1977. He preceded
her in death Feb. 2, 1977. Mrs. Barnard was a member of Manitowoc Elks Auxiliary,
charter member of Reedsville Lioness club, member of St. Ann Christian Mother's
Society, member of Knights of Columbus Council 5798 Auxiliary, and a member of
Gosz-Novak Post No. 199 Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Donald (Bro) and Jan Barnard of
Reedsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Tom McDonough of Reedsville; three
grandchildren, Mike and Robbie Barnard of Reedsville, and Mrs. Joe (Mary) Levash of
Brillion; a great grandchild, Jason Levash; and four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Oliver
(Mame) Barnard of Coulee Dam, Wash., Mrs. William (Doris) Barnard of Reedsville,
Mrs. Howard (Priscilla) Leppla of Brillion, and Mrs. Margaret Brick of Askeaton.
Friends may call at Reedsville Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday where a
parish vigil will be at 7:30 p.m., followed by a Christian Mother's service at 8
p.m. and a Gosz-Novak Post No. 199 Auxiliary service at 8:30 p.m.

Wedded Wednesday at Askeaton
The marriage of George (Dolly) Barnard, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Barnard of
Reedsville and Theresa Brick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brick of Askeaton was
solemnized at the Catholic church at Askeaton at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning,
Rev. Father Vande Castle tying the nuptial knot and reading the nuptial mass
service. The attendants were Richard Denk and "Babe" Clancy of Askeaton.
A wedding reception was held at the home of the bride's parents to members of
the immediate families. The young couple left on a honeymoon trip to northern
cities and will be at home to friends in Reedsville where the groom is
associated with the Barnard Oil Co. A wide circle of friends extend well
wishes to the young couple.
