An informal history of the Kirkpatrick family indicates that WILLIAM KIRKPATRICK,his first wife, nancy and possibly some of their children were buried on Kirkpatrick land about 2 miles south of Honoraville. As William Kirkpatrick who died in the summer of 1870's owned much of the land in section 14 and 15 there is the great possibility (per family members) that the Kirkpatricks were the first to be buried in the Routon Cemetery. At this time it is not known who William Pleasant Routon acquired the land from William Kirkpatrick.
