All five members of the Antonakos family from Greenville, South Carolina were among those killed in a fiery plane crash near Soldotna, Alaska that left all 10 on board dead.

Family members killed were husband and wife, Melet and Kim Clayton Antonakos and their children: Olivia, Mills and Ana. Also killed in the crash were their friends and travel companions the McManus Family: Dr. Chris McManus; his wife, Stacey and their children, Meghan and Connor.

Milton Constantine "Melet" Antonakos Jr., 53, died July 7, 2013 in a plane crash in Soldotna, Alaska. Born December 9, 1959 in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Milton Constantine and Betty Dye Antonakos. Melete graduated from Clemson University where he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity and was a software sales entrepreneur. He enjoyed Clemson sports, playing golf, spending time at the lake, and coaching basketball.

Melet is survived by his nieces, Angela McCown Welker and her husband Chancy Lee Welker, Maria Catherine McCown Robinette and her husband Justin Robinette; and grandnephew, Matthew Lee Welker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jane Antonakos McCown and nephew, Matthew McCown.

Melet was a devoted, father, uncle, and a beloved friend to all.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Church Episcopal. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
