Michael L. Colvin, 67, of Flora, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at his home.

He was born November 30, 1946, in Logansport, the son of Odes and Myrl McCain Colvin. On August 26, 1967, he married Carolyn Sullivan; she survives.

Michael graduated from Carroll County High School in 1965. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and continued to serve with the Army National Guard. Michael retired from Hanson Cold Storage in Logansport. He was a member of Flora First Baptist Church and enjoyed shooting.

In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by two children, Russ (Jonie) Colvin of Logansport, and Michelle (Melvin) Matos of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Kace Colvin, Megan Colvin, Michael Matos, and Matthew Matos; one great granddaughter, Madalyn Colvin; and one sister, Susan Colvin of Monticello.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014, at Flora First Baptist Church with Pastor David Cox officiating. Military honors will follow. A gathering of family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Michael's name may be made to Gideon's International or Parkinson's Society. Arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home-Reinke Chapel in Flora. Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
