Carol Joy Young Seegrist was born August 2, 1940, to David Young and Ila Mary Johnson Young in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was taken from this life at the age of 58, due to the devastating effects of cancer, on October 20, 1998.

She valiantly fought this scourge and lived to serve others for over twenty years.

She was married on December 20, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah; and was later sealed to her eternal companion, Roger Seegrist in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on Sept. 11, 1959.

She is survived by her husband, Roger, of South Jordan; six children, Earl (Julie), of Veyo, Utah; Alan (Nina), of South Jordan; Glen (Tori) and John (Dione), both of West Jordan; Scott (Anne Marie), of Houston, Texas; Merri Lynne (Reed) Braithwaite, of South Jordan; 31 grandchildren; father, David Young, of Midvale; brother, Steven Young, of Salt Lake City; any many friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ila Mary Johnson Young and her brother, Dale.

A deeply spiritual person who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She lived her life by showing endless amounts of love to those around her. She was always an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions throughout her life. Her testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ remains unaltered by her passing. Her greatest work was her family. Her passing will not stop this work from rolling forth, for she now continues it in her new home on high. She considered her greatest accomplishments to be that of a rightous family. All of her children married in the Temple of the Lord for time and all eternity. Her sons all served as full time missionaries for the LDS Church, and each earned a rank of Eagle Scout. Her daughter, the flower of the family, continues her legacy of compasssion and love. She has a great abiding love for her husband, Roger Seegrist, whom she credits for saving her life on several occasions. Together they raised their family in love, harmony and righteousness. Her example of Christ like love is endeared in the hearts of her family, and will never be lost. Until we meet again, adieu.
