Meunice Katheryn Holden Sharp, 94, of Fort Valley, Shenandoah County, Virginia, died of pneumonia on July 1, 2014.
She is survived by her husband, Walter D. Sharp, and many other family members.
At 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, friends and family are invited to the Fort Valley Volunteer Fire Department for a time of sharing and memories, with lunch prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary to follow. Her memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. the same day at White Chapel UMC in Fort Valley, officiated by Reverend Larry Aikens.
Cremated remains will be buried at a future date in Tennessee.
Memorial contributions in her memory should be made to the Pisgah Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 831, Shelbyville, TN 37162. Contributions collected in her honor will be used to erect a permanent historical marker identifying the location of the small rural cemetery where her great great grandparents and other family members are buried.
She was previously married to Robert M. Hamilton from 1946 to 1962.
