Eddie L. Rodgers, 73, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, formerly of Cleveland County, died Monday, December 4, 2000 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Born in Cleveland County on December 14, 1926, he was a son of the late William L. Rodgers and Eula Mae Reed Rodgers.

He was reared and received his early education in Cleveland County. He worked for Smart Chevrolet in Pine Bluff, Arkansas for 53 years, including 38 years as manager of the parts department.

Mr. Rodgers served in the U. S. Army during World War II and moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 1946.

He was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Survivors include his wife Lillian Johnson Rodgers, whom he married July 25, 1947, two daughters; Rebecca Stone of Pine Bluff, and Suzanne Steele of Bryant, Arkansas, two brothers; Billy Rodgers and C. T. Rodgers both of Pine Bluff, two sisters; Maxine Owen and Linda Yaney, both of Pine Bluff, and three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, December 6, 2000 at the chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, Arkansas conducted by Luke Criswell.

Burial was in Graceland Cemetery, by Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home.
