JULIE ANN POTTER

Julie Potter, age 54, of Emporia, KS, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at her home in rural Emporia. The daughter of William "Bill" Harold and Cecile B. (Graham) Potter, Jr., she was born September 20, 1959, in Emporia. She graduated from Emporia State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and worked as an accountant.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed watching movies, knitting, making jewelry, and going camping with her granddaughters. She and her mother enjoyed flower gardening.

She is survived by her mother of the home; two sons: Josh (Faith) Turner of Valdosta, GA and Scott Turner of Emporia; one daughter, Lacey (Don) Kohlman, of Emporia; two brothers: Wm. "Chauncey" (Cheryl) Potter of Fulton, MO and Brian (Christy) Potter of Omaha, NE; eight grandchildren: Malikai and Dahlia Turner, Allison, Kellie, Mariah, and Chelsey Kohlman, and Megan and Alicia Gutierrez. She was preceded in death by her father, Bill, her brother, Bradley, and her grandparents, and a granddaughter, Ashlin Turner.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held Monday, July 7, at 11:00 A.M., at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Smith officiating. Inurnment will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery west of Cottonwood Falls. She has been cremated. The family will meet friends Sunday, from 4:00 until 5:30, at the funeral home.
