MRS. JACOB MANGES.

Mrs. Barbara Manges, wife of Jacob Manges, died at her home, in Washington township, on Thursday, at 11:15 o'clock, aged 71 years, 5 months and 13 days. For 40 years she had resided on the Manges homestead and had been an invalid with rheumatism for ten years. She was the mother of eight children, of whom six survive her, as follows: Mrs. George Altman, of Shelocta; Miss Lizzie, at home; Mrs. James J. Walker, of Manorville; James L., of near home; Mrs. T.J. Rowley, of Vandergrift, and Mrs. E.T. Elgin, of Elderton. She is also survived by two sisters--Mrs. Lavina Mahan, of Green Oak, and Mrs. Eliza Snyder, of Advance--20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She had been a consistent christian all her life. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, at 1 p.m., by her pastor, Rev. Offut, of the Curry Run Presbyterian church, and interment followed in the Elderton cemetery.

'A loved one from us has gone.
Her chair is vacant now,
Calmly to grim reaper, Death,
Our mother, dear, did bow.

'Her mission here is ended;
Her suffering is o'er,
Loved ones are there to meet her
When she reaches the golden shore.

'One by one they're crossing,
But God's will be done.
We hope to meet them in heaven,
At life's setting of the sun.'
--FAMILY.
