OSAGE CITY—Ted Davis, 91, of Osage City passed away July 4, 2014, at the Eastridge Nursing Facility in Centralia.

He was born May 1, 1923, on the family farm near Osage City, the son of Lawrence and Madge Hurle Davis. Ted attended the Elkahira School as a young boy and later went on the attend Osage City High School where he lettered in football.

Ted was joined in marriage to Patricia Leighty in 1942. They moved to the family farm south of Osage City where they remained until 2003 when they moved into Osage City due to health concerns.

Ted or T.L. as he was also known farmed with his father until his death in 1980. Ted continued to farm throughout his life. He also sold Garst and Thomas/Pioneer seed during the 1950's and 60's.

He later worked as a salesman at the Osage County Motors and for Waco Advertising where he was recognized as the top salesperson for 17 years.

Ted is survived by his wife, Pat, of the home; a daughter, Becky Becker and son-in-law Dan of Centralia; a son Tom Davis of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; two grandsons, Monte Lamond and his wife Katie and their children, Spencer, Brinley and Abby of Omaha, Nebraska and Michael Lamond and his wife, Rachael, and their children Madison, Hunter and Ethan of Topeka; numerous cousins, nephews and extended family and friends.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City. Inurnment will follow services at Arvonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to services at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and sent in care of the funeral chapel. Condolences may be expressed at vanarsdalefs.com.
