Services for Grady L. Dukes were held Saturday, November 17 at 10 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Frank Tribble, James Ruffin, Charles Davis and Dr. Thad Moore officiating. Burial is in Graham Cemetery. Mr. Dukes, 81, of Meridian, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice. He was a member of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church and the Gideon's. Mr. Dukes served as deputy sheriff under Sheriff J.L. Morgan and was an ordained deacon. He was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Edna Dukes; a son, Donald Wayne Dukes and his wife, Cindi, a grandson, David Lamar Dukes and a granddaughter, Donna L. Dukes. Pallbearers were Lenard Clark, M.L. "Buddy" Coleman, Sam Fulton, Eddie Lummus, Lee Davison, Lamar McDonald Jr. and Ed Allen.
