He has been a resident of the Plymouth and Campton, NH area for the past thirty plus years.
William enlisted in the US Navy, where he served seven years. He then enlisted in the US Air Force and served for over twenty-four years as a Nuclear Weapon Technician.
William was a member of the Durant-Haley American Legion Post #66 and the Mount Prospect Veterans of Foreign War Post #4483, both in Plymouth. He was also a member of 40/8 Military Group, the Military Order of the Cootie, the Mount Livermore Grange #288, as well as several other organizations
William is predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Karl Rooney.
William is survived by his brothers, Frank Rooney of Florida, David Rooney of Massachusetts, nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, Rachel Miller of Campton, and his significant other of many years, Ramona A. Mack of Campton.
