ALBERT DANTE DeLONGIS Albert Dante DeLongis passed away peacefully July 5, 2014, at Abington Hospice at Warminster. He was 92. Al was born in New York City and made his home in River Edge, NJ before settling in Montgomery Twp., PA after his retirement. He is survived by his wife and closest friend, Rose Marie (Pitoscia), sons Paul (Kathryn) and Mark (Christine), brother William(Geraldine), grandson Nicholas, granddaughters Laura and Jennifer, and great-granddaughter Mackenzie. Al was intensely proud of his service in the Army Air Corps in WWII, flying numerous successful missions over the China-Burma-India Theater of combat, and was awarded many medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, and the China Medal. Back home in the states, Al worked on both coasts for a variety of defense and industrial firms, as a manufacturing engineer. Always both creative and analytical, Al was well-known for constantly tinkering with inventions and improvements around home and yard. When it came time to relax, you could find him reading a good book or watching tennis or baseball---sometimes even fishing. His hobbies included magnificent woodworking and artistic stained-glass projects. He was a member of the CBI Veterans' Association until its dissolution. . Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate the life of Albert DeLongis at his Funeral Mass, 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Rd., North Wales (Montgomery Twp.) where the family will greet friends beginning at 10AM. A private burial with Military Honors will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
