MRS. ISABEL S. ACKER.
Funeral services for Mrs.Isabel S. Acker, widow of Charles J. Acker, whose death occurred Thursday, Dec.24,1953, following a long illness at her home in Avon, were held from her home Saturday afternoon, the Rev. E. R. Kerrison, pastor of Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in Avon Cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Ralph Acker of Avon; three sisters, Mrs. Harriette Roberts of London, England, Mrs. Pauleine Rheniauer, and Miss Daisy Shaw of New York City; and Westley G. Shaw of Rochester, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Acker was born in Huntington, Queens County, Ireland, Sept.23,1870, the daughter of George Westley and Pennell Shaw. A former resident of Mt.Morris, where her late husband, an Erie passenger trainman and condhctor, worked on the valley trains for many years, she had lived in Avon since the autumn of 1914. She was a member of the Methodist Church, and Joseph Gallipeau Unit No. 294, American Legion.
