To know Bood was to know an avid coon hunter and deer hunter. He was the greatest husband, daddy, grandfather, brother and friend anyone would ever desire.

Age 84 and a lifelong resident of Holden, Bood lost his life Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, as the result of an automobile-train collision.

His loving wife of 59 years, Helen Forrest Holden, survives him along with their three sons, Raymond Holden and wife Bella, Tim Holden and wife Sheila, and Craig Holden. He leaves behind four grandsons, Eric, Adrian, Cody and Matthew Holden; a granddaughter, Casey Holden; and two siblings who also survive him, Gene and wife Elaine, and Van and wife Helen.
