David Ray Brandenburg, age 62, of Gardner, IL, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at his home. He was born September 9, 1951 in Mattoon, IL to the late Kenneth Leroy and Sylvia Aileen (nee Moses) Brandenburg. David was formerly employed by ComEd, retiring after several years of employment. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served during the Vietnam era. In his leisure, he enjoyed reading.

Surviving are two children, Jason and Adina; brothers, Michael (Rosanne) Brandenburg of Apple River, IL and Neal Brandenburg of Morris, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Shirley Brandenburg.

Visitation for David will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., 401 E. Main St., Braidwood, IL, Sunday, July 6, from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in Friends Grove Quaker Cemetery in Toledo, IL, with graveside committal services Monday, July 7, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Moses officiating. The pallbearers will be Matthew Brandenburg, Brian Brandenburg, Adam Brandenburg, Anthony Brandenburg, Nicole Wilhelmi, and Adam Wilhelmi.
