Thomas E. Fritts, 73, of DeMotte, passed away on July 6, 2014 at Oak Grove Christian Village. Born September 13, 1940 in DeMotte, Indiana to the late Carl and Lillian Fritts. Tom was a 1959 graduate of DeMotte High School. He was an independent farmer and business owner. He was a member of the Shriners, 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Valparaiso Elks Lodge, DeMotte American Legion, and Moose lodge. He enjoyed farming, being with his friends, traveling and spending time at the lake. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lillian; wife, Barbara; brothers, Eugene and Mike (Bub).
Suurvived by his fiancé, Sandra; children, Anna, Gary, Dan; siblings: Jack (Kathy), James (Alena), Mary (Tom) and Margaret (Don); 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St.Cecilia Catholic Church with Father Dave Hellman officiating, burial will follow in the Cemetery of the Resurrection.
Friends may call on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 334 15th St., DeMotte, Indiana 46310.
Memorials for Tom may be made to the Crisis Center of Rensselaer, or the DeMotte Food Pantry. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
