MARIETTA -- Funeral services for Edna Jewel Wickware will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Marietta Pentecostal Holiness Church with Dr. Stan Beason officiating. Interment will follow at Durwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Wickware of Marietta was born March 22, 1923, in Ardmore, Okla., to Emmanuel "Wig" and Minnie Viola Powell Baxter. She passed away Thursday evening, Feb. 5, 1998, at Mercy Health-Love County of Marietta at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 14 days.
Mrs. Wickware was born and reared in Ardmore. She had lived in Marietta the past three years, moving here from Ohio. She married Roy W. Wickware Aug. 8, 1938, in Ardmore. He preceded her in death Feb. 20, 1974. She was a retired licensed practical nurse and attended First United Methodist Church of Marietta. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Gale Wickware, Marietta; a brother, James Baxter, Ardmore; two sisters, Barbara Rhodes, Ardmore, and Ruby Kyle, Homer, Ga.; four grandsons, Todd, Aric, Devin and Kevin; and a granddaughter, Stacey.
Pallbearers will be Tim Thompson, Bobby Michael, Winston Warthen, Harold Smith, Keith Williamson and W.T. Warthen.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Kennedy Funeral Home.
