BENNETT James Henry Kidd, 85, N. Lee Street, died Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the Chatham Hospital in Siler City.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Bennett Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Tim Strider and the Rev. Bob Bouldin. Burial will be in the church cemetery will military honor by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

Mr. Kidd was a native of Chatham County, retired from Burlington Industries, a former member of the Bennett Fire Department, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Bennett Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Hannah Kearns Kidd; sons, Ronald Lee Kidd of Ramseur and Randall Kidd of Sanford; daughters, Bunny K. Johnson of Millers Creek and Phyllis K. Welch of Bennett; brothers, Louis Kidd of Bennett and Norman Kidd of Coleridge; sisters, Johnsie Bouldin of Bennett, Dorothy Martindale of High Falls, Margaret Maness of Robbins and Cordia Shelton of High Point; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Loflin Funeral Home in Ramseur and other times at the home of Wayne and Phyllis Welch, 530 Lee Street in Bennett.

Memorials may be made to the Bennett Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 91, Bennett, NC 27208.
