Theodore "Ted" Kubisiak, 82, Bismarck, passed away July 3, 2014, at St. Vincent's Care Center, Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Monday, July 7, at Church of St. Mary, Bismarck, with Rev. Msgr. Gene Lindemann officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 pm Monday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Sunday, July 6, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a vigil service will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Ted was born October 11, 1931, in Dickinson, ND, the son of Valentine and Emelia (Dinius) Kubisiak. He grew up and graduated from Dickinson High School in 1949. Following high school, Ted enlisted in the United States Navy where he served overseas. He was a member of the Naval choir, and enjoyed singing throughout his life. Ted also attended Dickinson College. Ted moved to Bismarck in the 1950s where he met and married Helen Hauck in 1960. Ted and Helen had four children. The family moved to Richardton, ND, in 1974 where they owned The Ranger Café and The Style Mart. Ted worked for 30 plus years at the United States Postal Service. Ted was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved entertaining his grandchildren with card games, hide the thimble and board games. He was a member of the American Postal Workers Union and the Eagles Club where Ted and Helen enjoyed dancing and listening to their favorite song, "Yellow Bird." Ted is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen; four children, Karen (Vince) Selensky, Kevin (Janet) Kubisiak, Gerard (Debra) Kubisiak, and Paula (John) Jossart; his grandchildren, Kourtney and Katelyn Selensky, Timothy and Thomas Kubisiak, Alexandra and Makayla Kubisiak, and Delaney and Cambelle Jossart; one brother, Leo; four sisters, Emily Wolf, Dorothy Magelky, Joyce Eglin, and Judy Busse. Ted was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, James Kubisiak.
