RANKIN C. BOND DIES
Rankin C. Bond 80, died at his home eight miles east of Perkinston this morning at 4 o'clock.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock at the home with Rev. Pricey Bond officiating.
Interment will be in Sumrall Cemetery.

The home and community suffered a great loss last Thursday morning, January 1st when Rankin Bond, 80, was called to his reward. He had been ill for several weeks and confined to his bed for about seven weeks. He suffered his affliction with great patience and was ready when his summons came.
He was a charter member of the Sunflower Baptist Church, He and his wife being the last Charter members. He was also Clerk of the Church and attended service regularly until last September, when his health failed.
He served as Board of Supervisor for one term and refused to offer for reelection. He spent his entire life on his farm, once owned by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Belle Hatten Bond, two sons, Laron C, Biloxi and Emmett R. of Perkinston; four daughters, Mrs.. H. M. Breland of Perkinston, Mrs. W. H. Claunch of Moss Point, Mrs. J. C. Lamey of Gulfport and Mrs. M. E. Jordan of Pascagoula and fifteen grandchildren.
Funeral service was conducted at the home by Elder Pricie Bond and Interment was at the Sunflower Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: E. O. Hatten, Casa Hatten, Press Broadus, Roy O'Neal, Q. W. Breland and C. L. Loper. Honorary pallbearers were: M. V. Hatten, A. L. O'Neal, R. B. Thomas, P. N. Howell. Dr. R. A. Switzer, M E. Cooper; W. E Batson, T. P. Wyatt, Jim Wilson and Thomas Howell.
