Mary Willard Swain, 77, of Wilmington, NC, went to be with Jesus on July 3, 2014. She was born on June 11, 1937 to the late Jess and Annie Laurie Cox Willard and was predeceased by her grandparents William Cleveland and Delphine Elizabeth Cox and D. H. and Mary Eva Willard. Mary was a devoted wife to the late Kenneth B. Swain, Jr. and a loving and dedicated mother to her four children; Kenneth B. Swain III, and wife Carol, Jess W. Swain, Sr., and wife Molly, Delphine Swain Jenkins and husband Richard, and Ann Swain Smith, and husband Shane. Mary was a faithful companion to her younger sister Gloria Jean Willard. Mary is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 10:00am at Oakdale Cemetery, 520 N. 15th St., Wilmington. Donations in her memory to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401, or the Wilmington Humane Society, 2405 N 23rd St, Wilmington, NC 28401 would be appreciated.
