Ruth was the daughter of Isaac and Lydia Soule Gaige. Her first husband was Nathaniel Estes (1788-1819) M. 1807, their children were; Lois, Joseph, Lydia, Isaac, Mary, Patience and Nathaniel. She next married Joseph Lason about 1821, they had Amy, Ann and Daniel. Ruth's maiden name is erroneously given as "Hewett" in "Descendants of Hugh Mosher and Rebecca Maxson through Seven Generations", causing much confusion.
