Mel Beyer, 65, of Russellville, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born September 23, 1948, in Newton, Iowa, to Harold and Grace Fopma Beyer.

He was former co-owner of Vermeer Midsouth in Russellville, and a member of the Fellowship Bible Church.
He was Papa to his grandchildren, and he loved spending time with them. He also loved the water, boating and jet skiing, and enjoyed golf.

He was preceded in death by his father, and a son, Scott Beyer.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Linda Beyer; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Kerri Beyer of Springdale, and Shawn Beyer and Jennifer Pauley of Memphis, Tennessee; his mother, Grace Beyer of Sully, Iowa; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dwight and Joyce Beyer of Lynnville, Iowa, and Russell and Charlotte Beyer of Pella, Iowa; and five grandsons, Zachary, Lucas, Cody, Harrison and Hudson Beyer.

His funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, in the Shinn Chapel, officiated by Bob Manry.

Burial was in Rest Haven Memorial Park, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

Active pallbearers were Mike Wilkins, Ken Henderson, Kenny Lawson, Kent Bartlett, Andy Ward and Steve Rogers.
His grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.
