Funeral Service for Cordie Sampley 94 of Springer, Ok. will be Monday March 14th 2011 at 2:00 pm in the First Baptist Church in Ardmore with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home.
Cordie was born on February 14, 1917 to Elven and Ann Kyle. She graduated from Springer High School and married Melvin C. Sampey on June 15, 1935 and had three boys. They operated the Sampley Grocery Store in Springer for 49 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin and son Charles. Survivors include sons, Carl and wife Nancy, Piedmont; Paul and wife Della, Springer. Grandkids; David and Dewayne Sampley, Amanda Barbee, Robert and Scott Sampley, Pam Mandrinan, Chad and Mark Sampley, 9 Great Grandchildren and 2 great great grandsons.
Cordie taught Sunday School and sang in the choir at First Baptist Church for many years. She loved her church and was proud of her family The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3 to 4.
