MILLPOINT MAN DIES IN BLAZE

Marlinton, Feb 15 -- Lacy Denton Sharp, 25,
of Millpoint, died in a Marlinton hospital yeaterday
afternoon of burns received earlier in the day.

Sharp was burned when his clothing ignited
from a fire he was building in a logging camp
at Whittaker Falls on Elk River.

The building, which housed the kitchen, dining
room and living quarters for Sharp and his family
was destroyed in the fire.

Sharp's wife, Evalee, who was the camp cook,
and his 15-month old son, Tommy, are in a
Marlinton hospital in serious condition. Both
were severely burned.

In addition to his wife and son, he is survived
by his father, Joseph A. Sharp, of Millpoint;
four sisters, Mrs. Mattie Jarvis, of Millpoint;
Mrs. Grace Wilfong and Mrs. Nettie Sheets,
both of Milwaukee; and Mrs. Dorothy Wells,
of Phoenix. Ariz.; six brothers, J.G.; James;
and Walker, all of Millpoint; Sgt. Charles
Sharp, U.S. Army in Japan; Hubert, of Akron,
Ohio; and Clyde, of Fort Wayne, Ind.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Monday at the Trinity Church on Stamping
Creek, near Millpoint, with the Rev. E.D.
Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Sharp
Cemetery on Stamping Creek.

The body will be removed from the Wallace
and Wallace funeral home to the home of
Mose Burks at 2 p.m. Sunday.

LACY D. SHARP, 25

Stomping Creek, Feb. 23 -- Funeral services
will be conducted Monday at Trinity Church
in this Pocahontas County community for
Lacy Denton Sharp, 25 who was killed in
a logging camp fire near here Wednesday.

Mr. Sharp died in a Marlinton hospital from
burns received when the blaze swept through
the camp and destroyed the Sharp home.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Evalee
Sharp, and a 15 month old son, Tommy,
both of whom were severely burned; and
his father, Joseph A. Sharp, of Millpoint.
