He lived in Greenglades until 1936 when he moved to Irma, Alberta. Roy joined the 22nd Royal Edmonton Regiment and served overseas. He met Eileen Dyer in England and they were married in 1945. They had three daughters and three sons. Roy was employed with Alberta Transportation for 30 years and lived in Irma. Eileen passed away January 22, 1991. Roy stayed in Irma for a short time until he moved to Camrose to live with his family. Roy met Ann Belcourt and became special friends. Roy kept very active until his passing. Left to cherish his memory are his children Margaret (friend Willie) Sydora, Marilyn (Ben) Gagnon, Michael, Duane (Dorothy) and David (Diane), nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, as well as two sisters, one brother, his special friend Ann Belcourt, numerous nieces and nephews. Roy was predeceased by his wife Eileen, his parents, two sisters, six brothers, five sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, one son-in-law, and one nephew. By Roy's request there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place. A family graveside service will take place in the Irma Cemetery. Memorial donations are greatly accepted to the charity of one's choice.
