My Dad passed over to the other side last Thursday, June 19th. He was with my wife and me until the end of this life. He had celebrated his 95th birthday on June 8. "Pop Pa" was born in Hutto, Texas and moved to Oklahoma City with his mother, Wilmuth Reynolds Saul and father, Emzy Bryan Saul, Sr. when he was about nine years old. He attended the, then new, Cleveland Elementary, Taft Jr. High, Classen Sr. High, Oklahoma City University and graduated from the University of Missouri Dental School. He entered the U.S. Army Dental Corp and was sent to Europe about one month after "D" Day. He participated in the Rhineland and Central European Campaigns, earning the "Combat Medical Badge". He then returned to the U.S.A. to be trained for the invasion of Japan. After WWII ended, he set up his dental practice in Oklahoma City for the next 30 years. He was, for many years, the only dentist downtown. His beautiful bass voice paid for OCU as a member of the "Mens Quartet" and praised the Lord every Sunday as a member of the First Baptist Church Choir. He was asked a lot about his first name "Emzy". His dad was named after a Deputy Sheriff from Taylor, Texas and the Deputy was named for Emzy, New Mexico a town that no longer exists. Emzy was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Morris Jean Moore Saul and his grandson, Christopher D. Saul. He was survived by sons, Steven B. Saul and wife Karen and Gregory A. Saul; Grandchildren, Greg Saul, Jr. and wife Keri, Stephanie Saul, Susan Saul Edwards and husband Keith, Shannon Little Lewis and husband Howard. My mother and dad loved to travel. He loved to fish, take movies and stills, spend time with family and friends, grow plants and flowers and watch T.V. He was a good man and had a happy life. He loved many and was loved by many. A graveside service was held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 N.W. Expressway, on Wednesday, June 25th at 2:00 p.m., directed by Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper.
