Mr. Billy Joe "Bill" Douglas, 87 of Troup passed away July 4, 2014 at his residence after a brief illness.

Funeral service for Mr. Douglas will be 10:00 am, Monday, July 7, 2014, at the Cottle Funeral Home Chapel in Troup, with interment to follow at the Salem Cemetery near Troup.

Billy was born March 15, 1927 in Hunt County, Texas to the late Hulon E. and Fannie White Douglas.

He retired as a Supervisor from Rockwell International after several years of service, he also served in the United States Army during World War II, and he was a member of Carrollton First Baptist Church.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alma Marie Douglas, son Daniel Douglas, grandson Josh Douglas, siblings, Preble McKinney, Syble Decker, Dalton Douglas, Don Douglas, Valda Blazer and Pat Martin.

Billy is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law: Stephen Douglas and wife Paula of Troup, Bryan Douglas and wife Joanna of Carrollton, David Douglas and wife Gayle of Krum; sister: Freida Perry of Georgia; grandchildren: Ben Douglas, Davy Douglas and Cara Douglas, Jimmy Don Ludlam, Caleb Ludlam, Tim Taylor, Toby Taylor and Teddy Taylor; great grandchildren: Jacob Douglas, Miranda Taylor, Dylan Taylor, Isaac Douglas, Elizabeth Ludlam, Lillian McCann-Ludlam, T.K. Taylor, Kaitlyn Taylor, Erin McNulty and Aidan McCann.

The family will receive family and friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
