On Tuesday, July 1, 2014, Mitchell Morris "Mitch", of Silver Spring, MD died peacefully at Brooke Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center just a few weeks before his 100th birthday.
Beloved husband of the late Sylvia Morris; devoted father of Arlen Morris Rosenthal; also survived by dear-son-law Richard Rosenthal, and adoring grandaughters Rachel Rosenthal and Lisa Rosenthal. Mitch served in the Navy during WWII and settled in the Washington, DC area after the war.
He and loving wife Sylvia and their daughter Arlen lived in Silver Spring and his career included being a CPA for the US General Accounting Office.
Eventually Mitch and Sylvia enjoyed their retirement in Leisure World. As avid travelers, they visited numerous countries and, with Arlen, spent two years on assignment in Paris. In addition to his love of travel, Mitch was a voracious reader and lover of music, and after retiring from GAO, enrolled as a student at University of Maryland.

Funeral service will be held at Judean Memorial Gardens Chapel, 16225 Batchellors Forest Rd, Olney, MD, on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 12 noon. Interment at Judean Memorial Gardens, Olney, MD.
Shiva will be observed at the residence of Arlen and Richard Rosenthal, at 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA) of Rockville, MD. www.danzanskygoldberg.com
