Beverly Sue Eick, 71, of Rockton died July 4, 2014 after a short illness. Born November 18, 1942 in Taylorville, the daughter of John and Ethyl (Nash) Hill. Beloved wife of Richard W. Eick. Bev attended three years at Illinois College in Jacksonville after graduating from Taylorville High School. She worked for over 25 years as the Billing and Collection Supervisor for the Rock River Water Reclamation District. Bev enjoyed outdoor activities such as boating, water skiing, downhill skiing, biking and traveling. She especially enjoyed Las Vegas, and the trips to Alaska, Italy, England, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Ireland during her retirement. Bev was a Master Gardener for seven years with the Boone County University of Illinois Extension, where she won several awards. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, South Beloit.
Bev is survived by her devoted husband, Richard; the beloved mother of Kent Hutchings; grandsons, Kellen and Garin Hutchings; step grandchildren, James and Lezli Prior; and sister, Pat Jenkins. Predeceased by parents; and brother, Larry Hill.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 in St. Peter Catholic Church, 620 Blackhawk Blvd., South Beloit with Father Steven Sabo officiating.
