Clella Victoria Tallent, daughter of Samuel J. and Belle Tallent, was born at Marysville, Tennessee, August 18, 1904 and died at the Patterson Memorial hospital at Belleville, Kansas, May 8, 1924, aged 20 years 8 months and 20 days.

Her mother died in the year 1906 and her father in 1912. She has made her home with her brother Art Tallent since her parents' death. When in her 18th year she was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal church. She leaves to mourn four sisters and eight brothers, Alice, Jim, John, Staryl, Charles and Toley, all of Belleville, Kansas. Mrs. Havanna McNemar of Agenda, Kansas, Mrs. Delia Saville of Bulls Camp, Tenn., Mrs. Belle Lambert, of Marysville, Tenn., and Glenn of Salina, Kansas.

Clella was a sunny and cheerful disposition. She had high ideals of life and lived true to them. Her kindness of heart won her many friends. In spirit she was independent and counted it no hardship to make her own way in life. She was sick but a short time. Every day was a day of extreme suffering. Following consultation, the doctors agreed that it was brain infection. There was small hope of her recovery as this disease almost always proves fatal. But she bore her pain with patience and fortitude that was characteristic of her. "Blessed are the dead, who die in the Lord." funeral services were conducted by Pastor Cutler from the M.E. church Saturday afternoon and burial made in Belleville cemetery.
